Pichavaram – #offthecages

Pichavaram is the second largest mangrove forest in the world. Situated in the district of Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu, it is known for its extremely calm back waters and as a home to a variety of birds. The place has gained more popularity after the 2008 film Dasavatharam.

Here’s the song that made the place famous. Fast forward to 2.49s and you can see the beauty that is Pichavaram.

  1. This patch of forest was our first defense when Tsunami hit the east coast….
Back then it helped reduce the intensity but was really damaged…..
I hope it has been restored to its former healthier self!!
