Shef, I have no answer to your case study, but I pulled up a post for you… 🙂

For the rest of you who are wondering what this is about, well, Shef has/is looking for plausible answers for a hypothetical situation in an organization where the best performing employee also seems to engage in gossip majorly! They don’t want to give the pink slip, just yet! You can read the rest of the post here.

I thought this was an opportunity for us to talk about people in general. Tell me something about somebody you like and about being misunderstood 👼👼btw, the two questions are mutually exclusive, even though they are linked with a conjunction 😎😂

I’ll go first ..

There was a man in this library I was a member of whose job was to cover the new books with plastic sheets. I used to love watching him do that job with utmost precision – not a wrinkle, I tell ya.. Often people have misunderstood my interest in them as head over heels in love 💁🙆 while I’ll be in awe of that one activity they are engaged in, like in this man, his precision …

… in Gossip! Unnecessarily.

It is weird that many of our actions are to please others. So that they don’t talk about us and always keep their mouths shut or if at all open them, they’ll only have goodie-goodie things to say, even behind our backs!!  So we dress right, walk right, talk right and don’t let our personal cats out of any of our bags.

Then there are those, many of them and us who act in peculiar ways to be talked about all over town!! This could be to spread the Word! As an action of dispersion, these molecules of tit bits spread and circulate in no time, rise up in foam, and at times stick to the minds, as others fly in and out of ears; in true Bollywood style to promote an upcoming film, the stories of many created juicy breakups and makeups…

  1. I will put in 2 suggestions that were given :
    1) Create another team and gossip about that female, so that she gets the brunt of how nasty gossip can be
    2) Spread the word that increments and promotions are given faster to those who get into less gossiping activities

    1. About the first option, wont that be a little too bitchy… (Forgive me for the word choice) it may also cause a near future of more problems.

      Imagine this if it were to work, instead of one gossiper they would have a whole team of gossipers to deal with in future. I wonder what organozation would do next … 🤔🤔

      1. Ok… I am sorry for my late response, I somehow didn’t get any notification on this… N I thought no one responded… Sorry again… N I agree that the first suggestion is really not workable, it’s like an eye for an eye… Not right approach anymore…

      1. Why do we need to handle them? Let them talk and who cares! We know who are 🙂 Silence & Smile are two powerful tools. Smile is the way to solve many problems & Silence is the way to avoid many problem. 🙂
