10 point Q tile – 18Q

The letter Q becomes an important player during the game of Scrabble. The letter has 10 points.

The problem begins when tile with Q is picked but there is no accompanying U. The letter Q requires a U to perfectly fit into a word… Queen, quack, Quantico, quiz, equal.. The ordinary scrabble has 4 Us usually.
Scrabble is a game we have played as a family almost all the time since childhood. Initially when the Q and Z came in there used to be a slight irritation. They were the 10 point tiles. J and X came with 8 points. W and V for 4, B with 3, all the vowels with 1.. The cause of the irritation is simple, points matter this game. If the tile with the Q remains unused till the end of the game then 10 points were subtracted from player’s total.

The frequent words I used to make with the letter Q back then were either Aqua or qua. The game has grown with me.. I have a Scrabble set wherever I go, it is fun playing with a group of people, but it is equally fun to play alone. If not scrabble I play with the jenga blocks (now the jenga J memory pops out! :D)
