I happened to watch R. Balki’s Paa (2009) again and was simply amused by the tummy troubles of a 12 year old Auro.. and realized that Piku was not the first time, Amitabh Bachchan was referrimg to potty troubles in such elaborate details.
I hope you still remember Auro, Amitabh Bachchan’s role as a kid suffering from the rare genetic disorder, progeria?
If this year’s Sircar’s Piku was a full fletched humourous take on a man’s constipation troubles, Bachchan senior’s potty jokes as a 12 year old in Paa seemed more innocent. To be precise there are two scenes with his father, Amol Arte played by Abhishek Bachchan in the film where Auro musingly chatters about a potty bomb … “mantri ka bum blast ho gaya” and an instance where “your potty in my tummy, mine in yours.. thank god I don’t eat fish” 😉
Ya ya ya ya.. may be it is time to watch Paa again (although the film now sounds very preachy, I did enjoy it a lot while watching it in the theatre back then) if not the whole film, the part where he finally accompanies his MP Father to Delhi to see the Rashtrapathi Bhavan..
